Super cool place right near the beach and awesome staff. The hotel has a Victorian charm with current amenities with a great view looking at the beach. There’s no elevators though but we all need to exercise but overall gray stay. – Aaron M. from Ontario, CA via Yelp .
I want to commend the entire staff at the Glenmore Plaza Hotel! On the last day of our stay at the hotel, my sister fell and was taken to the ER by ambulance! It was then when the staff went into action!! They drove me and my cousin to the hospital, then picked up my cousin, and drove her back to the hotel to pick up her things and then drove her out to the boat!! Then when my sister was released, they picked us up at the hospital, drove us back to the hotel to pick up our things, and out to the boat!! They also called ahead to Catalina Express staff who met us at the pier with a wheelchair!!! We couldn’t believe we made it to the boat on time! If it hadn’t been for the cooperative effort of the entire staff, we would have never made it!! You don’t find this level of concern, patience, and kindness at many resorts! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

We have done several trips to Avalon; however they have always been day trips. This time we decided to do an overnighter for my daughters 16th birthday. The hotel, location and staff were just AMAZING! It’s a family owned hotel and they’ve been there for 37+ years. They made us feel right at home, any questions we had about eateries and must see’s they were always happy to help. Thanks for making our trip to Avalon so memorable! Beautiful hotel. It’s right in downtown area by the shops and restaurants. The staff were all very nice. Garrett took us from the boat to the hotel as well as from the hotel to the boat. Breakfast was decent, coffee and pastries. Would definitely stay here again. – Nicole O.
What a gem of a place! The family-run hotel shows it. It’s the second oldest hotel in all of California. So the public parts are quite antique and charming. So the carpet in the main hallways could use an upgrade – they’ve definitely paid attention to the places
they should – the rooms. Smartly done, modern, and quite spacious for a very old hotel. Comfortable beds. Our third floor unit had a walk in tile show and five windows including a bay window. Quite bright with a great view up the hill of the city. – OregonRainGuy

Enjoyed our stay in Avalon at the Glenmore Hotel. The entire staff made us feel like family. Personally acknowledged us coming and going. Picked us up at the dock and drove us to the hotel, also drove us up the hill to a restaurant. Nicely presented buffet breakfast next to hotel. No elevator, and my husband has a back injury, so we were given a room with 4 or 5 steps up. The room was spacious, marble bathroom. Walking distance to waterfront, Blue Water Grill, shopping, museum, movie theater, zip line etc. Love the staff. Definitely recommend The Glenmore. – Barbara G.
We LOVED this hotel! Character, friendly front desk staff and they accommodated us for a second night when the boat couldn’t come due to high winds. Our king room was large with a balcony and updated bathroom with a shower that I wish I could’ve taken home with us!
No elevator? Great! I racked up stair flights on my health app. Convenient to everything….As the 2nd oldest hotel in California, it’s still maintained, clean and comfortable. We’ll stay there again. – Anna W.

Our room was spectacular with the balcony overlooking Sumner! We were able to have breakfast out there ♡ And, the enormous 3 headed shower was a special treat! We were treated like “royalty”♡ Loved it!!! – Diana H.
